June 18th, 2026 In Person Workshop for Professionals Working with LGBTQ+ Youth

This six-hour, in person workshop will be held at the Northwest Educational Service District in Anacortes on June 18th from 9am to 3pm. This interactive, conversation-based workshop is intended to equip professionals with the confidence, knowledge, and skills they need to effectively support LGBTQ+ youth. Topics will include:

Exploration of the latest Healthy Youth Survey Data and the insights into the population and experience of LGBTQ+ students in Washington state.​​​

A conversation about the identities we all hold and the impact of belonging, loneliness, pride and shame. 

Core Identity Concepts: What, at an emotional and relational level, are young people sharing with us when they talk about their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation.

 

A rich conversation on Gender Inclusive Schools laws and policies. How to implement these laws in practice and the connection between such practices and long-term wellbeing for all students. 

Virtual Workshops: Fostering Health and Trust at Every Age

These sessions are for all adults interested in supporting the emerging identity of all young people. Parents are especially encouraged to register. The information will also be relevant to teachers and providers of all kinds. ​I welcome your questions and will be happy to help with connecting you to any helpful resources that exist to meet your needs.
